ADAM THOMAS DROBOT: CHAIRMAN, OPENTECHWORKS

ADAM THOMAS DROBOT is the Chairman of OpenTechWorks, Inc, active in strategic consulting, and start-ups. He was the CTO and Director of 2M Companies; the CTO and President of AR at Telcordia; and the Sr. VP for S&T at SAIC/LEIDOS. He is a member of the FCC TAC. As an IEEE volunteer he has been involved in the IoT Initiative, the EBCC, the Awards Board, and the IEEE Press Editorial Board. He holds a BA in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and a PhD. in Plasma Physics from the UT Austin. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society.

 

 

 

RICARDO AUGUSTO DA LUZ REIS: FULL PROFESSOR, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

RICARDO REIS received a Bachelor in EE from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil (1978) and a Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG), France (1983). Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Montpellier (2016). Full professor at the UFRGS. More than 750 publications. Former president of the Brazilian Computer Society (two terms) and vice-president of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society. Vice-president of IEEE CASS for two terms (2008/2011). Member of IEEE CASS BoG (2018/2023). Member of the IEEE IoT TC. Chair of the Management Committee of the IEEE IoT Magazine. Chair of the IEEE CASS SiG on IoT. Ricardo received more than 25 awards including: Researcher of the Year Award in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (2002), 2015 IEEE CASS Meritorious Service Award, IFIP Fellow Award 2021, 2022 ACM/ISPD Lifetime Achievement Award, 2023 IEEE CASS John Choma Education Award.

 

HUSSEIN MOUFTAH: CANADA RESEARCH CHAIR IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS & DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR, UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA

HUSSEIN MOUFTAH is with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Ottawa (2002-2023), as Tier1 Canada Research Chair, and Distinguished University Professor (since 2006). He has been with the ECE Department at Queen's University (1979-2002). He has three years of industrial experience mainly at BNR of Ottawa (Nortel Networks, 1977-79). He is the author or coauthor of 13 books, 78 book chapters and more than 1800 technical papers and 16 patents. Dr. Mouftah is a Life Fellow of the IEEE, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Engineering Institute of Canada and the Royal Society of Canada RSC: Academy of Science.
